The story, neutrally told

Right · 1House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) said on "Fox News Sunday" that polls showing Democrats with an edge in the midterm elections, about a week away, are "wrong" and rest on "faulty analysis". Right · 1Host Shannon Bream cited new Fox News power rankings: 219 seats solidly Democratic, 198 Republican and 18 toss-ups, with Democrats ending on 237 seats in a very good night and 219 in a good Republican night, so Republicans would be in the minority either way. Right · 1Johnson said two national polling organisations had been "exposed for completely fraudulent numbers" in the past week, and that traditional pollsters acknowledge under-sampling Republicans. He cited a CNN story saying 14 of the last 16 October polls under-sampled Republicans by an average of four points. He did not name the two organisations in the quoted exchange, and the reports do not verify these claims.

Right · 1He said Republicans are no longer responding to polls, and that at rallies he asks for a show of hands from people who have answered a poll in the last six months and sees about three among 300 people. Right · 1Johnson said he had been to 21 states and 39 districts in the previous three weeks, with crowds of hundreds and an excitement level "like 2024". Right · 1On "The Ingraham Angle" on Monday, Johnson told Laura Ingraham the polls are "grossly underestimating Republican enthusiasm" and are inaccurate. Fox News reported that he said Republican voters have become unwilling to take part in surveys because of distrust.

Right · 1Fox News noted that a new Reuters/Ipsos poll found registered voters favouring Democrats over Republicans by 47% to 36%. Right · 1Johnson argued that the Democratic Party's "far lurch to the left" would "juice enthusiasm" for Republicans. He criticised the Democratic Socialists of America, with which several prominent congressional candidates have affiliated, saying their proposals include abolishing borders and prisons and defunding police. Right · 1He called the election a "contrast election" between "common sense" and "crazy". He said Democratic control would bring retribution against President Trump's administration, open borders and an attempt to repeal the "working families tax cut", and "chaos every day for two years".

Framing
Both outlets present Johnson's rebuttal of the polls and his confidence in Republican turnout, largely in his own words. Breitbart leads with his "faulty analysis" charge; Fox News leads with his argument that a Democratic lurch left will boost Republican enthusiasm.
Emphasis
Johnson's anecdotal evidence (rally crowds, show of hands), alleged under-sampling of Republicans, and warnings about Democratic socialism and chaos if Democrats win.
Leaves out or plays down
Neither names the two polling organisations Johnson called fraudulent, nor checks the CNN under-sampling figure. Breitbart does not mention any specific poll result. Fox News gives one poll figure but no pollster response.
Charged language
“Faulty Analysis”“far-left shift”“far lurch to the left”“chaos every day”
For example
“Johnson said those surveys used “faulty analysis.”” — Breitbart
“Speaker Johnson predicts Democrats' far-left shift will ‘juice enthusiasm’ for GOP in midterms” — Fox News
