The story, neutrally told

Mixed · 2Abusali Rahman, a former supply teacher, was jailed for six years at Bolton Crown Court on 15 October 2026 for secretly taking upskirt photos of schoolgirls and for creating and sharing sexualised deepfake images of pupils. Mixed · 2The Daily Mirror gives Rahman's age as 37 and GB News as 36. Right · 1GB News reports that Rahman pleaded guilty in May to 21 offences: 12 counts of taking indecent photographs of children by upskirting, four of publishing an obscene article, three of making indecent photographs of children, one of voyeurism and one of distributing an indecent photograph of a child.

Mixed · 2The court heard that Rahman worked in seven high schools in Greater Manchester; GB News says 14 girls aged 13 to 16 were targeted. The Mirror says Rahman used an iPhone hidden in a top pocket to take upskirt images in classrooms and also filmed girls walking upstairs. Mixed · 2Rahman also took pupils' pictures from social media, used AI to 'nudify' them, and posted them online with sexualised captions. According to the Mirror, Rahman began with deepfakes before escalating to upskirting and voyeurism, and in one case put a girl's face on a woman in a bikini. Mixed · 2The case came to light when a parent spotted material online. The Mirror says a mother saw her daughter's photo in school uniform next to graphic sexual images on X in March 2025, and that police traced an X account called "UK Girl5", with 1,000 followers, to Rahman. GB News says Rahman was arrested in June 2025 and that a child from one of the schools had also found the account.

Mixed · 2Police found hundreds of indecent images on Rahman's devices: 226 Category C, 25 Category B and 12 Category A. The Mirror says the Category A images were downloaded from the internet, and that Rahman created a document in May 2025 promoting 'candid candy' content for sale at £20. Right · 1Judge Horne told Rahman: "You were a trusted supply teacher and your position of trust gave you access to classrooms. You abused that trust." He added that he did not want a sentence that "extinguishes all hope" for Rahman. Mixed · 2Defence counsel Emma Kehoe said Rahman's arrest "almost came as a relief" and that Rahman was "out of control and unable to stop". Both outlets report that Rahman had spoken to an Imam about the thoughts and was advised to marry, and that the arranged marriage did not stop the offending.

Left · 1Rahman qualified as a teacher in 2023 after studying at Manchester Metropolitan University. The Mirror says offending began in December 2023, five months after Rahman gained the degree, and continued until the June 2025 arrest. Right · 1Victim impact statements read in court described one girl feeling "disgusted" and another "embarrassed" and "vulnerable". Greater Manchester Police said no concerns were raised about Rahman's phone use in schools and there were no issues with DBS checks. Police said they are looking into the accounts that followed the posts, with no further arrests so far, and have contacted all schools Rahman worked at. Right · 1Detective Constable Lisa McGaffin called for better regulation of AI platforms, while Senior Crown Prosecutor Alexandra Mann said the CPS would "robustly prosecute" those who use technology to exploit children.

Every sentence links to the reporting it rests on. The pill in front of each says where its sources sit: Left, Centre or Right when one side supplies at least half of them, Mixed when they are evenly split. The number is how many outlets it cites.
