The story, neutrally told

Centre · 1T-Mobile on Monday 26 October unveiled wireless plans that let customers pick and swap perks from services such as Netflix and DoorDash, moving away from its earlier approach of locking benefits into fixed plan tiers. Mixed · 2The plans are called T-Mix and come in three tiers: Standard from $55 a month for one line (with autopay, per The Verge), More from $75, and Loaded from $95. CNA says they will be available from next month. Left · 1The number of perks, which T-Mobile calls Picks, depends on the tier: Standard includes one Pick, More includes two per line, and Loaded up to three per line for the first three lines, with the plan capped at 11 perks in total.

Left · 1Perks cost different numbers of Picks. For example, Apple TV, Hulu with ads and Netflix Standard with ads take one; Apple Music Individual and YouTube Premium take two; Netflix Standard and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate take three; and ESPN Unlimited and Netflix Premium take four. Picks can also be traded for discounts on a new phone. Centre · 1Partners named include Apple, DoorDash, Google, Hulu, Netflix, Paramount+, SiriusXM, Xbox and YouTube, and other benefits include Delta SkyMiles, ESPN Unlimited, Google Gemini and device promotions. Left · 1Tiers also differ in data and connectivity. Standard offers up to 50GB of premium data and 480p video streaming; More adds unlimited data, 4K UHD streaming and up to 60GB of high-speed hotspot data; Loaded offers up to 250GB of high-speed hotspot data and up to 30GB of high-speed data in Canada and Mexico.

Mixed · 2Customers can change perks every three months or during an annual change window, though the timing depends on the benefit. T-Mobile says some switch at any time while others hold Picks for a quarter or longer, and some services charge for switches outside the window. CNA says wireless benefits such as satellite connectivity can be changed at any time. Centre · 1Citing Reuters, CNA reports that the plans mirror customizable offerings from rivals such as Verizon, but include selected subscriptions at no extra cost beyond the monthly price. T-Mobile Chief Marketing Officer Allan Samson told Reuters that Netflix was the most popular benefit in a pilot begun in early October, that music and AI services also drew interest, and that Xbox gaming was popular with younger customers.

Every sentence links to the reporting it rests on. The pill in front of each says where its sources sit: Left, Centre or Right when one side supplies at least half of them, Mixed when they are evenly split. The number is how many outlets it cites.
