The story, neutrally told

Mixed · 2No. 19 Texas beat No. 7 Ole Miss 34-27 in Austin on Saturday night, a game that was settled on the final play. Centre · 1The win ended a two-game losing streak, after losses to Oklahoma and Florida. Centre · 1Texas led 24-3 at halftime, but Ole Miss came back in the second half and tied it at 24.

Right · 1Fox News's Trey Wallace wrote that Texas managed 19 yards in the third quarter while Ole Miss scored 14 points, and that the Rebels scored 21 unanswered points, helped by a fumble returned for a touchdown after a sack of Manning. Centre · 1Arch Manning then led an 80-yard drive that ended with his one-yard touchdown run to put Texas back in front. His second rushing score, a bootleg, made it 31-24 with 8:04 left. Centre · 1Manning completed 18 of 30 passes for 212 yards and one touchdown, and rushed for two scores. He had three turnovers, a fumble and two interceptions. After the second interception Texas threw just once and leaned on Raleek Brown, who ran for 157 yards.

Right · 1Ole Miss kicked a field goal and recovered an onside kick to get one last chance to tie, but a Trinidad Chambliss pass to the end zone was caught by a Texas defender to end the game. Mixed · 2After the game Manning said, "We say every week, 'whatever it takes,' and I think we did that in the fourth quarter." On the last Ole Miss drive he said, "I was pacing, saying a few prayers." He also said he likes "being disregarded and counted out." Centre · 1Coach Steve Sarkisian said, "One thing I know about Arch Manning, he's a fighter." He said the quarterback's "fire in his belly" carried over to the team. Earlier in the week he had said he needed to see a better version of Manning, and reports said backup KJ Lacey was getting more first-team reps.

Mixed · 2Looking ahead, Newsweek says Texas hosts Mississippi State on Oct. 31. Fox News says Texas faces Missouri and LSU over the next three weeks, and that questions about the team's consistency will linger.

Every sentence links to the reporting it rests on. The pill in front of each says where its sources sit: Left, Centre or Right when one side supplies at least half of them, Mixed when they are evenly split. The number is how many outlets it cites.
