The story, neutrally told

Centre · 1The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 3 premieres November 11 on Prime Video, less than three weeks after Collider's report on Monday 26 October. Centre · 1The season has eight episodes. Four will release on premiere day, two more on November 18 and the last two on November 25, so the whole season will be available before US Thanksgiving. Centre · 1The story picks up five years after the fall of Eregion, with Middle-earth deep in a war against Sauron. According to Prime Video's official description, as relayed by Collider, his next objective is creating the One Ring.

Centre · 1Charlie Vickers returns as Sauron, Morfydd Clark as Galadriel and Robert Aramayo as Elrond. New cast includes Jamie Campbell Bower as Celeborn, Eddie Marsan as Thrain and Andrew Richardson as Anárion. Simon Pegg voices the Balrog. Centre · 1Screen Rant, in an opinion piece, argues that the season risks replacing Galadriel as the main character as the story focuses on Sauron. It says season 2 already shifted focus to him after Galadriel inadvertently brought him into Eregion. Centre · 1Screen Rant says the show has made Sauron a more complex and human figure than in the Lord of the Rings films. It warns that either centring a villain or softening his role could leave viewers cold, given the One Ring and the Nazgul are expected to feature.
