The story, neutrally told

Mixed · 2President Donald Trump said on Sunday 4 October that he would "stop watching" Fox News, in a post on Truth Social criticising the network's coverage of his rallies. Left · 1Trump wrote that other networks were reporting positively on the rallies and that "our people" wanted to see them on Fox News, or they would "very quickly stop watching (like I am doing right now!)". Centre · 1Newsweek reported that Trump was frustrated that Fox & Friends Weekend had not highlighted rallies in Ohio, Alabama, Texas and Oklahoma, which he said drew "packed" crowds.

Mixed · 2He asked who made these decisions at the network, and suggested it was the same person who fired Maria Bartiromo, whom he said had complained about not being allowed to cover "TRUMP". Centre · 1Trump also singled out commentator Jessica Tarlov and accused Fox News of spending too much time featuring his political opponents. Left · 1He warned that Fox could end up with ratings like CNN or MS NOW, writing that it had "almost went out of business" once before, "always right before an election", and that "That can happen again!"

Centre · 1Newsweek noted the comments come as the White House is in a legal fight with CNN, MS NOW and Politico over the administration's ban on the outlets from White House access; the story was still developing and no response from Fox News was reported.

Every sentence links to the reporting it rests on. The pill in front of each says where its sources sit: Left, Centre or Right when one side supplies at least half of them, Mixed when they are evenly split. The number is how many outlets it cites.
