The story, neutrally told

The UAE won three gold medals and two silvers in jiu-jitsu at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games on Thursday. Khaled Al Shehhi won the men's 62kg final, beating fellow Emirati Omar Al Suwaidi, who took silver. The win made Al Shehhi a two-time Asian Games gold medallist, after he took gold in the same weight class at the 2022 Games in Hangzhou.

Ahmed Andeez took gold in the men's 69kg category. In the women's 48kg division, Balqees Abdulla beat compatriot Al Anoud Al Harbi in another all-Emirati final. The UAE's tally at the Games is now seven medals: four golds and three silvers.

Earlier medals came from Sulaiman Abdulrahman, who won silver in the men's 400m on Saturday, and Mariam Kareem, who won gold in the women's 400m hurdles.
