The story, neutrally told

A helicopter carrying six people crashed in the Marondera area of Zimbabwe, east of Harare, on Wednesday 30 September, and all on board were killed, according to officials. Police spokesperson Paul Nyathi said the crash happened at around 5 p.m. local time, with emergency services attending. Government spokesperson Nick Mangwana said on X that the aircraft carried a high-profile businessman, three other passengers and two pilots.

Mangwana had first said there were four passengers before editing his post, according to Reuters. Mangwana said current information indicated there were no survivors, and that police would confirm the victims' identities. Nyathi said the bodies were badly burned and needed formal identification.

Local outlet ZimLive reported that businessman Wicknell Chivayo was aboard, and Hindustan Times said other local reports also named his wife, Lucy Muteke; police had not confirmed either. The cause of the crash has not been announced, and the operator of the helicopter has not been stated.
