The story, neutrally told

The second series of The Celebrity Traitors begins on Thursday 1 October at 8pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. Twenty-one stars will take part at Ardross Castle in Scotland. The cast includes Michael Sheen, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Myha'la, Joe Lycett and James Blunt, as well as Miranda Hart, Richard E Grant, Hannah Fry and Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan.

Claudia Winkleman hosts again and chooses who becomes a Traitor. Traitors try to eliminate the other players, called Faithfuls, without being found out. If any Traitors remain at the end, they win. Last year's winner, Alan Carr, took £100,000 for charity, and this year's prize is also up to £100,000 for the winner's chosen charity. Digital Spy reports that the BBC is also launching a companion show, Traitor or Faithful? Claudia Decides, which explains how Winkleman picks the Traitors.

Winkleman said in a BBC press release that she was thrilled with the line-up. The Independent's columnist guesses Hart, Beckett and Grant could be picked as Traitors, and says Fry might be the Faithfuls' best hope. The columnist says they have not seen previews and are going on instinct and history.
